Enjoying Janice being on holiday. Weather still a cold wind, so once more SWMBO has me grounded.

This is a small carving from another bit of scrap. Three inches. I played around with oil and paint this time, a bit of experimenting.

On the road.

Getting rid of that infection feeling a whole lot better. The weather has improved, no wind .Took the young dog out this morning and gave him a bit of training. He has a good nose and keen as mustard.

I've been asked to show some of my carvings on the blog. While I've no problem with that remember, I'm only in my second year of my apprenticeship.
So I'll add a photo of a carving to each posting .

This is a box I burned and carved. I'm and always have been untidy. Its a built in fault. The box is to hold tools and it does. And I put tools in it, but there isstill all that clutter around.

Happy Harry

Run out of wood so raided the trash bucket . Got nine pieces together and put Happy Harry together. Because of the wood mixture painting proved difficult. I covered all with white paint and regreted it. Ah well live and learns.

Valentine's DAy.

Who would believe it?
I carved this spoon for Janice 's Valentine while she gave me a floor mop!

Carving wise I'm working on a clown, given the above exchange of presents its about right as a self portrait.

Valentine's DAy.

spoon

Here's my latest effort, carved from a piece of steamed pear. This has been lying in my shed for years. As its getting near St.Valentines Day, SWMBO will I hope, like it.

Still a smattering of snow, a couple of inches. Enough for Janice to ground me. Wish this bloody chest infection would clear up.

grounded

Inspite of anti flue jabs, anti biotics and every cure known to man a chest infection has floored me. Even my daily walk with the dogs has been limited, fortunately Janice has stepped in so they have not lost out.

However work on the ale cup which is in my work shed has stopped for just now.
