The old life comes back to me on occasion, the result here is a spoon with a nautical theme. This is the notorious horn beam wood. A lot of work but a bonny wood.

I cut a small piece of the slab we bought and experimented. With a sharp knife I can cut with the grain. Anything else I need to use power. The finish is I think is bonny. Almost silky!

So the trial served its purpose. The spoon well it will do a friend for a coffee scoop.
